I am excited to begin the Principal's Program at IUP this summer. I enjoy learning about education and I am looking forward to gathering with other educators who are working towards their Principal papers.
The readings for the courses have been interesting so far. What Great Principal's Do Differently was the best book so far. I like the format. It is a quick read and is very applicable to working in a school or business.
I am currently reading On Common Ground and Nothing's Impossible. I like to read two books at a time especially when they are as different as these are. On Common Ground is a book about how to create and manage a Professional Learning Community in a school district. Nothing's Impossible is written more as a story about how they built the Frederick Douglas Academy in Harlem, New York. Both are interesting and informative.
I am hoping that the summer courses are engaging and informative. This is the beginning of my journey. Im not sure where I am going but I will know when I get there.
